Teeth Whitening

A sparkling white smile is a key to confidence. Even with good oral hygiene getting a bright white smile might be difficult. Teeth whitening allows you to get the smile that you want.

Are Teeth whitening treatments effective?

Yes, Teeth whitening treatments are effective; you can see a visible difference in the shade of your teeth.

How much whiter will my teeth become?

The condition and existing color of your teeth will determine how much whiter your teeth will become. Yellowish teeth respond better to whitening, brownish teeth respond less well, grayish or purplish teeth may not respond to whitening at all. With all types of bleaching procedures, the degree of whitening varies from person to person. It also depends on the condition of teeth, the nature of stains, the concentration of bleach, and the time duration of teeth whitening.

Does whitening damage teeth?

You can get into trouble if you start overdoing it and use too many different whitening products without consulting your dentist. Always do whitening as directed by your dentist or get it done by a dentist. Overdoing whitening treatments can weaken enamel. But there is no evidence to suggest that whitening damages the enamel of teeth or their nerves.

Will teeth whitening treatment affect my teeth filling, crowns/veneers?

Whitening does not lighten the color of veneers, crowns, or fillings as much as it affects the natural teeth. It will, however, clean and restore the false teeth to their original color. If you plan to have a crown, bridge, filling, or false tooth, we recommended getting your teeth whitening before so that the dentist can match the color better.

What precautions should I take to maintain my teeth after whitening?

1. Rinse your mouth immediately after eating or drinking so that food doesn’t color your teeth

2 Brush twice daily and floss at least once a day

3. Avoid consuming any food or beverage which stains your teeth. If you choose to drink beverages that stain teeth, consider using a straw so that it does not touch your front teeth

4. Brush or rinse immediately after eating/drinking foods that stain teeth
